Dave Matthews “Slightly Heartbroken” About Obama Vote – Video

Dave Matthews on Obama Romney Vote; Promoting ‘Away From the World’ New Album

Dave Matthews said he will cast a “slightly heartbroken” vote for President Barack Obama this November.

“I think Democrats and Republicans survive on distracting us from the real issues, and so we get very little done when they stay in office,” the Dave Matthews Band musician told CNN in an interview posted Thursday. “And I wish there was a third party, but right now, I will wholeheartedly support Obama — even if I’m slightly heartbroken about it.”

He continued: “I’m disappointed, but I’d be more disappointed by having a president like [Republican presidential nominee Mitt] Romney in there.”

Matthews said Obama’s 2008 campaign message of “hope and change” has been difficult to maintain during the President’s first term.

“I think he had a sort of single message, and it came from him, and it came from his heart or the hearts of a small group of advisers,” said Matthews.

“But then, once he was in office, I think there were a lot more voices that made it harder for him to stay on that message.

“And so I think — rightly so — people are disappointed.

“Not that it’s been easy because I think that he’s been up against an incredibly poisonous opposition during his presidency. Really disrespectful, I think, because he’s still the President.

“But, I think I was probably disrespectful of his predecessor. But I think it’s reached a new high.”

The Dave Matthews Band newest album Away From the World debuted last week at number 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart. It was the band’s sixth consecutive album to do so.

Solar (R)evolution

Does the sun have the power to transform humankind?

In Solar (R)evolution, world-renowned German biophysicist Dieter Broers makes a compelling case, pointing to a wealth of scientific evidence that shows a remarkable correlation between increases in solar activity and advances in our creative, mental, and spiritual abilities.

We are in the midst of a dramatic rise in solar disturbances, which have the capability of disrupting the Earth’s geomagnetic field and, as a result, our global ecology. Broers, however, sees this not as an impending apocalypse but as the dawn of a new era.

Drawing on research from a variety of disciplines, he shows how erupting solar activity carries the potential to boost our brain capacity and expand our minds in ways we never imagined possible. Abilities now seen as extraordinary or supernatural—telepathy, extrasensory perception, and off-the-charts intelligence quotients—may soon become ordinary and natural and could very well help us solve the mounting global crises we are facing.

Humankind is going through an evolutionary leap, says Broers, and the process has already begun.
