MTV announced it is cancelling “Jersey Shore” today, stating that the reality show will end after its upcoming sixth season, and likely many people of Italian descent rejoiced.
Many Italian-Amnerican people including the National Italian American Foundation (NIAF), UNICO National and Order Sons of Italy in America are disgusted by the show because the show cast members pretend they are full-blooded Italian, which most of them are not, and they portray horrible negative stereotypes of the most low-class version of Italians.
This type of loud, drunk, promiscuous, gaudy dressed Italian-American has been give the derogatory term guido following the early 20th Century wave of Italian immigration to the United States. However, the cast of “Jersey Shore” uses guido and guidette to describe themselves – whether good or bad.

The series has its roots in a party house in Seaside Heights, NJ, and features over-tanned, annoyingly loud, drunk and bodybuilding obsessed people: Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Pauly D “DJ Pauly D” Delvecchio, Deena Nicole Cortese, Vinny Guadagnino, Jenni “JWOWW” Farley, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, Samantha “Sammi” “Sweetheart” Giancola, Ronnie Magro and kicked out member Angelina Pivarnick.
“Jersey Shore” members pretend to be of Italian descent, but only several of them are: Vinnie is possibly full Italian descent, Mike is at least part Italian, Pauly D is part Italian but not full, Snooki is adopted from Chile, JWoww is not Italian at all, Ronnie is part Italian, part Puerto Rican and possibly part some other ethnic group, Sammi is of Italian and Greek descent, Angelina is of Polish and possibly other descent and Deena is part Italian.
Some of the cast have had negative press following their fame.
Snooki recently gained publicity for leaking naked photos of herself. She birthed her first child as an unmarried mother – a son – on Sunday.
Also, Snooki and Deena were arrested for public intoxication last year.

Mike “The Situation” went to rehab for drug and alcohol addiction in March after his friend was arrested for cocaine possession in the “Jersey Shore” house.
Ronnie was arrested for assault in 2009.
The show’s premiere in December 2009 had up to 8 million viewers and spawned the spinoff shows “Snooki & JWoww” and “The Pauly D Project,” but ratings have declined in recent seasons.
“Jersey Shore” left New Jersey’s beach for several seasons: Miami in season two and Italy in season four.
Two years ago, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie called the show “negative for New Jersey,” telling a TV interviewer the show “takes a bunch of New Yorkers, drops them at the Jersey Shore and tries to make America feel like this is New Jersey.”

Does the sun have the power to transform humankind?
In Solar (R)evolution, world-renowned German biophysicist Dieter Broers makes a compelling case, pointing to a wealth of scientific evidence that shows a remarkable correlation between increases in solar activity and advances in our creative, mental, and spiritual abilities.
We are in the midst of a dramatic rise in solar disturbances, which have the capability of disrupting the Earth’s geomagnetic field and, as a result, our global ecology. Broers, however, sees this not as an impending apocalypse but as the dawn of a new era.
Drawing on research from a variety of disciplines, he shows how erupting solar activity carries the potential to boost our brain capacity and expand our minds in ways we never imagined possible. Abilities now seen as extraordinary or supernatural—telepathy, extrasensory perception, and off-the-charts intelligence quotients—may soon become ordinary and natural and could very well help us solve the mounting global crises we are facing.
Humankind is going through an evolutionary leap, says Broers, and the process has already begun.
