Exclusive: Queen Latifah Is Coming Out as Lesbian at Long Beach Gay Pride

EXCLUSIVE REPORT: Queen Latifah is scheduled to perform at the Long Beach Pride festival May 19, and she is going to announce publicly that she is lesbian, according to our sources.
The Pride festival in Long Beach, CA is a yearly event to celebrate gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people.
Long Beach Pride’s website states that her concert at the event will be her first time performing at any LGBT pride event.
“Queen Latifah wants to come out at Pride because it’s a place where people will appreciate her showing her support of the LGBT community,” said the insider source close to the actress/rapper/singer to our publication Truthquake.com.
“She has a lot of gay and bi fans. They know she’s lesbian, and they love that she’s so successful, but they’ll be trilled when she finally ‘comes out’ publicly.

“People in the LGBT community don’t want to push her because they know it’s not easy facing other people who you think may judge you badly, and if you’re famous, there are even more people to judge. But, they’ll be thrilled to know she’s finally announcing it.”

For years, news outlets have said that Queen Latifah is gay and is dating her fitness trainer Jeanette Jenkins.
Numerous photos have been taken of the pair including them on a yacht trip in 2010 off the coast of Saint-Jean-Cap Ferrat in France with honeymooning couple Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz.
The National Enquirer printed pictures of Queen Latifah with female strippers at a New Jersey townhouse party in Sept. 2009, which added to the rumors of her being lesbian.

It was reported last year by the publication that she broke up with Jenkins after fights over her unhealthy eating habits.
She reportedly began dating a choreographer Eboni Nichols, but then went back to Jenkins, and they were engaged to marry.

During their breakup, Jeanette reportedly was dating Kelly Rowland, and they released a workout video called “Sexy Abs with Kelly Rowland.” They attended the 2011 MTV VMAs together as dates.

Our source said the rumor of Jenkins being Queen Latifah’s girlfriend is true.
He mentioned why Queen Latifah will not say she is lesbian on TV, such as when she outright told Barbara Walters on “20/20” that she was not going to get her to say: “I’m gay.”
The insider said to Truthquake.com: “If she were to announce she was lesbian on TV, it wouldn’t be as special because she knows it’s not a place where people will appreciate her. At Pride, people are like you and won’t judge you negatively for showing who you really are.”

He added: “Latifah and other celebrities feel that most people in America may want to know if you’re gay or bisexual, but they don’t really want to know.

“They want to know only for gossip interest, and then they want to judge you as a bad person.
“Many of them won’t be happy for you just being you.”
Queen Latifah told The New York Times in Oct. 2008: “I don’t feel like I need to share my personal life, and I don’t care if people think I’m gay or not.”
Long Beach Pride Co-President Pat Crosby stated on the event’s site: “For her to make her worldwide Pride debut here in Long Beach is a tremendous testament to the popularity of our celebration and to the strength of our community.”

The Pride festival in Long Beach, CA is the third largest LGBT Pride event in the United States, following the largest in San Francisco and the second in New York.
