Strange Phoenix Lights Explosion Behind Andrea Robinson's Live Traffic Report for Fox 10 News

A Phoenix, Arizona Fox 10 reporter was in the middle of a traffic report when a bright white explosion of light suddenly appeared in the horizon behind her.

The strange blast was caught on video and aired live during Andrea Robinson’s report at 4:45 am March 8 – lighting up the sky around Interstate 17 for a split second.

News station employees initially thought the big explosion may have been a transformer.

However, when FOX 10 checked with local utility providers APS and Salt River Project, they were told no transformers had blown in the area.

Officials in Phoenix have been left stumped by the incident.

The mysterious light explosion happened just days before the 15th anniversary of the famous UFO sightings in the city called the Phoenix Lights.

On March 13, 1997, a group of glowing orbs moving in a V-shaped formation was spotted in the skies above Phoenix.

Hundreds of people through out the day saw various UFOs and orbs in the sky.

Alien Explosion During Newscast Like Earlier Phoenix Lights Events

One of the mile-long light formations was also caught on film.

The lights were reported to have reappeared again in 2007 and 2008, but government officials tried to explain these events without success.

The Air Force tried to reenact the 2007 Phoenix Lights believing it was a caused by military flares dropped by fighter aircraft at Luke Air Force Base; however, their attempt failed.

They attempted to explain the 2008 incident by saying it was caused by flares attached to helium balloons released by a civilian.

Arizona is also home to Travis Walton who famously claimed to have been abducted by an alien UFO in 1975.

Walton has written a number of books on the subject, and his story was turned into the 1993 film Fire in the Sky.

FOX 10 has called on the public to get in touch with possible explanations for the sudden explosion.

Now, the Arizon Public Service is attempting to add disinformation about the March 2012 event.

The agency stated last week that a breaker on an electrical line opened, causing a big flash and a brief power outage.

Officials say an employee came forward at the weekend to inform them of the breaker opening, which caused no damage to equipment or need for power line replacement.

However, as was stated earlier, the news station had initially called the local utility providers and they were told that no transformers had blown in the area.

Breakers are used on electrical lines to break circuits in the event of a fault. They are designed to protect the lines from damage caused by overload or a short circuit.

The switch in the “official” explanation now seems like disinformation to stop the public from speculating about any alien UFO visitations.

Former Arizona Governor Fife Symington said publicly that he saw UFOs in 1997 during the Phoenix Lights events.
