Santorum’s Wife Had Affair with Abortion Doctor

Rick Santorum's Wife Karen and Abortion Doctor Boyfriend Tom Allen

By Truthquake.com Staff

The wife of anti-abortion Republican Rick Santorum had a six-year love affair with an abortion doctor, 40 years older than her who delivered her as a baby.

Karen Santorum, 51, who, like her husband, currently opposes abortion even in cases of rape and does not believe in using birth control, lived with Pittsburgh, PA abortion pioneer Dr. Thomas E. Allen for most of her 20s in the 1980s, according to Allen to Daily Mail.

When 22-year-old Karen, who then went by the name Karen Garver, began her adult relationship with Allen, she was a nursing student who shared his liberal views on abortion and lived as the unmarried girlfriend of the 63-year-old divorcee and man-about-town, according to friends.

The image of Karen Santorum living unmarriend with the playboy doctor is in great contrast to the matronly devout Catholic mother of seven that she hypocritically plays on the Presidential campaign trail.

Since she left Allen for her current husband Rick, Karen’s politics have become far right-wing conservative Republican, which doesn’t sit well with the doctor, now 92, or his wife Judi.

“There are so many contradictions in their lives that are quite alarming,” Judi Allen told the Daily Mail in January.

Tom Allen told the Philadelphia City paper in 2005: “When she moved out to go be with Rick, she told me I’d like him, that he was pro-choice and a humanist.

“But I don’t think there’s a humanist bone in that man’s body.”

Allen co-founded Pittsburgh’s first abortion clinic in the 1970s, and was a close friend of Karen Santorum’s parents.

Her father was a pediatrician and many of his patients were referred to him by Allen.

Karen and Rick Santorum married in 1990. They have seven children together, all of whom are home-schooled.

She had complications with a pregnancy that would have birthed her eighth child in 2004, but the doctors performed a late-term abortion causing a miscarriage. At the time, the Santorums took pictures with the dead baby and their other children.

Dr. Allen recently interviewed with Newsweek and said: “Karen was a lovely girl, very intelligent and sweet.

“Karen had no problems with what I did for a living.”

Accounts of Allen portray him as a playboy who liked wine, opera and young women, which is said to have led to divorce from his first wife.

He began dating his current wife Judi – 30 years younger – a few months after breaking up with Santorum. The couple have now been married for 16 years.

Allen claims his relationship with Karen Santorum: “wasn’t that big a deal, at least to me,” and admits to having had several young girlfriends before meeting her.

He said: “My first marriage didn’t do very well because of that behavior.”

Allen was a close friend of her parents and had known Karen her entire life since he delivered her as a baby.

Their romantic relationship began when she called him for advice while looking for an apartment to rent near Duquesne University in Pittsburgh.

She moved into the basement apartment in the building where he lived on the top two floors, and soon after, they began living together.

Allen told the Daily Mail about the day they began their relationship: “That first night, as soon as it got dark, she called to say she was scared and asked if she could come up.

“I figured it was a come-on, but that was OK.”

They lived together for almost five years, during which time Allen paid to have her teeth straightened and bought her a grand piano.

They took several European vacations together and a trip to Hong Kong.

According to Allen’s youngest daughter, Candy who, at 51, is the same age as Karen Santorum, the relationship did not go well with her parents.

Allen says they split up on good terms in 1988 because Karen wanted to have children, and he did not since he already had done so.

Rick Santorum is known for his strict pro-life views and conservative Christians are a core part of his support base.

He has described abortions as a great moral wrong and believes doctors who provide them should face legal proceedings.

The Republican also calls gay marriage morally wrong, yet publicly claims to have gay friends and employees.

Currently, Santorum is leading the Republican nomination primary election against Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich and Independent and Libertarian leaning Ron Paul.

Santorum has not yet commented on his wife’s relationship with Dr. Thomas Allen.

    Come on, folks.

There is an old saying that everyone is a communist at 21 and a capitalist at 31.

What that means is everyone learns; you don’t stop learning when you get out of high school. Or, at least, most folks don’t.

As you go through life, you learn things that cause you to change your views. That is one of the reasons there such a divide between what folks think in their twenties, and what they believe in their fifties and sixties. It would be very strange if it was otherwise.

That doesn’t make you a hypocrite. It means you have grown.

  10. G. Jones says:

    By the way;

    It’s little known, but true.

Most women who have had abortions later come to believe it was a mistake.

Does that make them hypocrites? I don’t think so.

Where is truthquake run from that it feels the truth must be moderated?

And why does truthquake so fear the truth that after eight hours it cannot be published?

And why does the author of truthquake hide his (or her) name?

  13. Pam says:

Christians call this conversion. She was living in darkness, then saw the light of truth. There are millions of us out there. We are not hypocrites because we now believe differently than we did as young adults. At that time we followed our hearts. Now we follow our hearts. Our hearts have experienced a conversion. People grow. People change.

  14. Thank you for this. There is so much anger, resentment and bitterness in this world.

  17. Ann says:

Santorum is a hypocrite. See how they act as if something is so bad – women’s rights – and then they had a later term abortion. It’s like the Senators who are against gay marriage, and then you find out they had gay affairs.

Solar (R)evolution

Does the sun have the power to transform humankind?

In Solar (R)evolution, world-renowned German biophysicist Dieter Broers makes a compelling case, pointing to a wealth of scientific evidence that shows a remarkable correlation between increases in solar activity and advances in our creative, mental, and spiritual abilities.

We are in the midst of a dramatic rise in solar disturbances, which have the capability of disrupting the Earth’s geomagnetic field and, as a result, our global ecology. Broers, however, sees this not as an impending apocalypse but as the dawn of a new era.

Drawing on research from a variety of disciplines, he shows how erupting solar activity carries the potential to boost our brain capacity and expand our minds in ways we never imagined possible. Abilities now seen as extraordinary or supernatural—telepathy, extrasensory perception, and off-the-charts intelligence quotients—may soon become ordinary and natural and could very well help us solve the mounting global crises we are facing.

Humankind is going through an evolutionary leap, says Broers, and the process has already begun.
